Le lien sacré du mariage et le divorce
    Les éléments qui composent le cérémonial du mariage religieux n’ont pas tous la même importance. Certains n’ont du rite que l’apparence et tiennent plutôt du phénomène de mode. D’autres ont pour origine la coutume ; d’autres enfin constituent l’essence même du mariage.
Parmi ces derniers, le plus important est la remise par le fiancé à la fiancée de l’anneau nuptial : le fiancé prononce en hébreu la formule  » Te voici consacrée a moi par cet anneau, conformément à la Loi de Moise et d’Israël « , puis, immédiatement, il passe l’alliance a l’index de la main droite de sa fiancée.
Cette consécration – en hébreu Quiddouchine – est ainsi appelée car elle instaure entre les époux un lien extrêmement puissant, dont la profanation constitue un crime aussi grave que celle d’une offrande consacrée à Dieu.
Cependant, la Tora a prévu une modalité de dissolution de ce lien, autre que le décès de l’un des conjoints : c’est la procédure de divorce religieux. Elle consiste en la remise devant témoins et devant un tribunal rabbinique, par le mari aux mains de son épouse, d’un document préalablement écrit et signé sur ses instructions, et dans lequel il déclare divorcer de sa femme – le Guett.
Les deux procédures sont donc parallèles : pour le mariage, le fiancé remet a la fiancée une alliance ; pour le divorce, le mari remet a l’épouse un Guett.
(Contrairement à certaine idée reçue, le cérémonial du divorce religieux ne présente d’ailleurs aucunement un caractère traumatisant ou humiliant pour les conjoints).
Il est clair, par contre, que le divorce civil n’a aucune influence sur le lien établi religieusement, de même que le divorce religieux n’a aucune valeur au plan civil : à mariage civil divorce civil, à mariage religieux divorce religieux.
Lorsque malheureusement un couple décide de divorcer, on ne saurait trop lui conseiller de mener de front les démarches au plan civil et celles au plan religieux ; le Beth Din de Paris se tient à sa disposition pour que les choses se passent de la meilleure façon possible.

   4. Deux photos d’identité.
Il est rappelé que seul le divorce religieux met fin au mariage.
