La Bar Mitsva
La bar mitsva est une cérémonie religieuse qui officialise l’entrée du garçon comme membre majeur au sein de la communauté d’Israël.
A 13 ans pour les garçons, les jeunes gens, après une préparation d’un an, seront honorés par un office.
Chaque synagogue a sa manière de célébrer l’évènement, l’essentiel est que l’adolescent se sente pleinement responsable de son identité et fière de son appartenance à un peuple plusieurs fois millénaire, qui reçut la parole divine en sortant d’Egypte.
La Bar-Mitsva marque une étape importante dans la vie de votre enfant. Elle est le fruit d’une éducation de plusieurs années.
Dans le cadre du Talmud Tora, votre fils recevra un diplôme attestant de sa conscience de prise de responsabilités au sein du peuple juif.
LA PREPARATION A LA BAR MITSVA
Introduction
       
L’enfant atteint sa majorité religieuse à treize ans révolus. A cet age, il devient responsable de lui-même, est soumis à l’accomplissement des mitsvot positives et est rétribué pour la transgression des mitsvot négatives.
Bien que l’âge de la majorité religieuse ait été transmis oralement à Moïse au mont Sinaï, nos sages voient également une allusion dans le verset suivant :
« … deux des fils de Jacob, Siméon et Lévi, frères de Dina prirent chacun (Iche) leur épée et marchèrent contre la ville avec assurance… »
La Torah n’a soumis à ses commandements que celui qui est appelé Iche (homme). Or Lévi était agé à cette époque de treize ans et la Torah lui confère le qualitatif de Iche. On en a déduit qu’à treize ans, on est majeur et soumis à l’accomplissement des commandements.

Le Talit
    
Le Talit, comme le Talit katan, est un vêtement rectangulaire aux quatre coins duquel sont attachés les tsitsit. On met le Talit pour l’office du matin.
Avant de s’en envelopper, on récite la bénédiction suivante :
« Baroukh ata adonaï, élohénou, mélékh aolam, acher kidéchanou bémitsvotav, vétsivanou léhitatef betsitsit ».
« Béni sois-Tu Eternel notre D. roi du monde, qui nous as sanctifié dans tes commandements, et nous as ordonné de nous reocuvrir des tsitsit« 
Il est préférable d’avoir un Talit en laine afin d’accomplir cette mitsva telle qu’elle est prescrite par la Torah.
Il est possible de faire la bénédiction sur le Talit dès l’aube, à partir du moment où, d’une distance de deux mètres, on peut distinguer une personne vaguement connue de tous.

Les Tephilines
     
Les Téphilines (ou philactères) sont des objets cubiques en cuir que nous attachons à l’aide de lanières, l’un sur le biceps du bras gauche (sur le bras droit si l’on est gaucher), face au coeur, l’autre à la tête, entre les yeux.
La Téphila de la main (chel yad), contient un parchemin sur lequel sont inscrits les quatre passages de la Torah qui mentionnent cette mitsva :
   1. Deutéronome 6, versets 4 à 9
   2. Deutéronome 11, versets 13 à 21
   3. Exode 13, versets 1 à10
   4. Exode 13, versets 11 à 16,
La Téphila de la tête (chel roch) est divisée en quatre compartiments dans chacun desquels on introduit un seul des quatre passages cités ci-dessus. Sur les côtés latéraux de la Tephila de la tête apparaît en relief la lettre Chin : celle de droite a 3 branches, celle de gauche en a 4.
Tous les jours, à l’exception du Chabbat et des jours de fêtes, à l’office du matin et après s’être enveloppé du Talit, on met les Téphilines.
On pose d’abord la Téphila chel yad sur le biceps, on serre la lanière et, avant de l’enrouler autour du bras, on récite la bénédiction suivante :
« Baroukh ata adonaï, élohénou mélékh aolam, acher kidéchanou bémitsvotav, vétsivanou lehania’h tephilin »
« Béni sois-Tu Eternel notre D. roi du monde, qui nous as sanctifié dans tes commandements et ordonné de mettre les téphilin »
